Kentec’s arrival at Bergen’s new airport terminal

Kentec Norways New TerminalA new life safety system based around Kentec’s Syncro XT+ addressable extinguishing control panel technology is being installed in the new 4 billion Kroner (Euro 407m) terminal at Norway’s Bergen Flesland International Airport.

Bergen Flesland’s new terminal will treble the airport’s capacity and will include a new dedicated train line connecting Flesland to Bergen city centre. Kentec launches new Syncro XT+ Extinguishing Panel

Syncro XT+ (Smaller)Kentec has launched its much-anticipated Syncro XT+ Multi Area Addressable Extinguishing Panel. The Syncro XT+ provides addressable detection over 1 or 2 loops with 16 Zone LED Indicators and is available with up to four extinguishant release control units built in and is fully approved to EN12094-1, EN54-2 and EN54-4.

The extinguishant control modules on the panel have a comprehensive set of inputs and outputs to monitor and control the extinguishing system whether it be gas, aerosol or another. Being configurable via a simple programming interface means that the panel can be programmed to meet the clients’ specific requirements. Read more

New Los Angeles Federal Courthouse kept safe with FFE’s beam smoke detectors

Fire ray FFE detectorsTo ensure optimum fire detection in its large atrium, the impressive new Los Angeles Federal Courthouse has installed four Fireray beam smoke detectors from FFE. The units were commissioned and installed by SimplexGrinnell.

“Because the atrium is so high, conventional smoke detectors were not suitable for this installation,” commented Managing Director Mark Osborne. “Our Fireray 5000 auto-aligning, reflective smoke detectors were selected instead as they are ideal for this kind of large interior, providing extensive coverage at minimal cost.” Read more

IWMA: 17th International Water Mist Conference – Call for Papers out now

IWMA logoHamburg, January 2017. The 17th International Water Mist Conference will take place in Rome, Italy, on 25th and 26th October 2017. Venue will be the Barceló Aran Mantegna Hotel.
Today the call for papers was released.  It can either be downloaded from the IWMA homepage or obtained from the IWMA’s office in Hamburg.
Potential speakers will have time until 15th May 2017 to hand in their abstracts. IWMA’s Scientific Council will then check the submissions. By 15th June 2017 the speakers will be notified if their topics have been accepted. Read more
